I love Border Collies. At least mine. She was 3 months short of 17 when she left this earth. She was for me the most perfect dog, perfect friend, unconditional love in all ways. So smart, so quick but in the house she was so mellow. I became very sick and we are talking several years she always stayed close by. Loving me protecting me as I had such a genuine friend. Sweet girl you stay with me always, yes I saw you in the sun, the light, you were a tingling of mist, dust, transparent enough to see through. She died in 2001and Ì have never looked for another dog. It would not be fair because I already had found and loved the perfect furry best friend.

My "new" service dog Pappi before us was adopted four times and returned each time, all in 11 months. Everyone said that he was aggressive, mean, would bite and attack. When I saw him at the shelter all he wanted to do was play with me, he even drew blood on my right arm from playing. I laughed about it, told the rep that I wanted him, and the guy was shocked. He actually tried to talk us out of taking him home. We insisted and got Pappi 13 months ago. We found out that three days later they were going to put him down. He has been VERY abused and is still skittish at times but a lot of love, holding, petting and some slow gentle training and he is getting better all the time. I'm already thinking about getting him trained to be a PTSD service animal for me.
